A Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program is a relationship between a farm, committed to growing food sustainably, and a community of farm friends committed to eating locally and supporting local farms. CSA members come together to support a farm by purchasing “shares” in advance, before the growing season is underway.

When you join Sandy Seed Farm’s CSA, you’re not just purchasing food from the farm. You’re entering into a direct relationship with your farmer and committing to support locally and sustainably grown food.

Our goal is to facilitate a CSA program that provides high-quality seasonal produce, is a good value, and that is dynamic - incorporating new ideas from members each year and striking a balance between farm and member needs so we can all enjoy great food.

Each week, CSA members will receive 5-6 fresh, seasonal food items grown on our farm plots in Montrose, CO. Members receive produce that is ready to harvest as the season progresses. The start of the season is usually heavier on greens, shifting to more roots, cucumbers, and squash mid-late summer.

It’s important to find a way to get your share during the allotted time frame. If you can’t pickup your share, we suggest sending a friend or family member in your place. Due to storage constraints, we can’t guarantee that CSA shares will be available outside of the stated pickup times. 

Absolutely yes! You and the person(s) you’re splitting the share with should submit only one sign up form. Decide on a designated contact and use their information to fill out the sign up form. This person will be contacted about payment and any other updates throughout the season.

Produce may vary from week to week and season to season due to extreme weather, insects, or other production factors. To mitigate these environmental concerns, we use drip irrigation, row cover, and integrated pest management practices to minimize the risk of crop failure. We promise to do all we can to provide you with a bountiful share each week.
